Public holiday today in Mali.
They are celebrating their Independence Day. In 1960 (!) they gained their independence from France.
And according to the all-knowing internet, they celebrate with parades, political speeches, performances of traditional dances and patriotic hymns.
For this occasion I (tried to) make meni-meniyong.
The name sounds promising and when I googled pictures, these roasted sesame/honey bites looked promising.
However, I have to be honest and this time, my baking (ore the recipe?) failed.
Can't have it all. Luckily, it 'll soon be October...
Preparations looked good...
But the outcome was not worth sharing.
