Дан државности

On February 15th, it is "dan državnosti" or "Statehood Day" in Serbia.
They commemorate the outbreak of the First Serbian Uprising in 1804. It evolved into a Serbian Revolution against Ottoman rule and resulted in the recognition of Serbia's statehood by Ottoman Empire.

On the same day in 1835, during the rule of Miloš Obrenović, the first Serbian constitution was adopted in Kragujevac, known as the Sretenjski ustav (‘Candlemas Constitution’).
Statehood Day as a public holiday is celebrated for two days every February 15 and 16.

For this reason, I made "ledene kocke" or ice cubes.
It is a layered cake, consisting of a fluffy chocolate base, followed by vanilla custard and covered with a smooth and dark layer of chocolate.

I heard it was good...
