Kifli. Hmm Cookies...

The Hungarian Revolution of 1848 was closely linked to other revolutions of 1848 in the Habsburg areas. It grew into a war for independence from the Austrian Empire.
After a series of Austrian defeats in 1849, the Austrian State came close to the brink of collapse. Thus, the young emperor Franz Joseph I called for Russian help. Czar Nicholas I sent a 200,000 man strong army.
The anniversary of the Revolution's outbreak, 15 March, is one of Hungary's three national holidays.

Enough said bout the war.
I tried to make it better, by baking these delicious Kifli cookies. They are crispy on the outside and filled with a walnut mixture.
My guess? They will be finished sooner rather than later!
