чак-чак from the Tatars (or how to get sticky fingers)

Today, Kyrgyzstan is celebrating their Independence Day.On August 31, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan adopted a law on the "Declaration on State Independence of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan". Because of this, the Kyrgyz Republic was declared an independent state. A military parade is held every 5 years in Bishkek on Ala-Too Square in honor of Independence Day.

This month I managed to create something truly local.
Thanks to one of my colleagues, who is actually coming from Kyrgyzstan, I made чак-чак (pronounce: chak-chak).
It is a Tatar sweet. It is a wheat flour based dough, cut into small pieces, fried in oil and glazed with a honey syrup.

Sticky fingers guaranteed!

Nice to know: the biggest çäkçäk (1,000 kg) was prepared in August 2005, during Kazan's millennium celebration.
