Buchteln, jodelahiti!

In Austria, on 26th of October, they celebrate their Nationalfeiertag or Independence day. 
After World War 2, Austria was occupied by the Allies for 10 years. On October 25th 1955, the Allies retreated and the day after, Austria signed a declaration of permanent neutrality. 

I like to keep it short & sweet, so for this occasion I made their traditional "buchteln". 
Filled with apricot jam, these sweet yeast buns are soft and delicious. And they smell amazing!
As usually, I took them to work as a treat for my colleagues... I hope I can keep a few for myself ;-)
