¡ olé !

Today Spain is celebrating their Día de la Hispanidad, or Hispanic Day.

On the 12th of October in 1492, Cristobal Colón (aka Columbus), stranded on the American continent. He did not know then that he discovered a new world, because he assumed to be in Asia. From then on, the Spanish Kingdom only became bigger and more powerful to the point that it becomes the most influancial country in the world.

To celebrate this, every year on the 12th of October in Spain, they have their national holiday.
To celebrate this, for my part, I baked polvorones, Spanish almond cookies with cinnamon and lemon zest.

¡ Ay caramba !
